While I was in London last week for the Beyond Sport Summit & Awards, I walked around the city by St. Paul’s Cathedral last Monday evening and had the unexpected and delightful opportunity to encounter one of 30 pianos randomly placed throughout the city as part of the Play Me I’m Yours public art project. I saw & heard someone playing the same piano located at the Millennium Bridge & featured in the above street piano video by Andrew Balkwill.

It’s amazing when outside of the box thinkers do something like this, and other outside of the box thinkers/creative people come in and play and have fun with it.
What’s interesting is that on the About page of the Play Me I’m Yours website, it says “Why is it that when I go to the laundrette I see the same people each week and yet nobody talks to one another?” I go to a place like Starbucks, and can sit for hours doing work on my laptop….tons of people come and go, but unless someone has a question about my Mac, NOBODY will ever say anything. Funny…or sad…how you can sit within inches of someone, and they will never talk to you.
