The Changing Lives Through Football competition is open to all types of individuals and organizations (charitable organizations, private companies, or public entities) from all countries.
The winners of this Changemakers Collaborative Competition will be those entries that best meet the following criteria:
Innovation: The innovation should be a unique model of change demonstrating a substantial difference from other initiatives in the field with the possibility for large-scale expansion.
Social Impact: It is important that the innovative idea provides a system-changing solution for the field it addresses. This will be judged by considering the scale strategy, ability to be replicated, clear how-tos, and the entrant’s ability to formulate a clear “road map” to reaching larger goals.
Sustainability: For an innovation to be truly effective it must have a plan for how it will acquire financial and other bases of support for the long-term. They should also demonstrate that they have strong partnerships and support networks to address an ongoing need, and to aid in scalability and the maintenance of a clear financial strategy.

June 2010, Nelson Mandela returns to his cell
There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.
Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.
If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.
If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.
It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger.
Let freedom reign. The sun never set on so glorious a human achievement. Only free men can negotiate; prisoners cannot enter into contracts.
There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.
Your freedom and mine cannot be separated. There is no such thing as part freedom

When the water starts boiling it is foolish to turn off the heat.
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, born 18 July 1918

At the Aspen Ideas Festival 2010, Professional LEGO artist, Dan Parker shows off a model solar powered city made entirely out of LEGOs. The city, which is the smallest and cleanest on the planet, demonstrates how concepts can come to life through creative media.

A quick trip to Aspen turned out to be an unexpected, inspiring, playful & energy replenishing moment for me. The eclectic gathering of thinkers, game changers, storytellers, and human catalysts was much-needed “sustenance” for my creative soul! (BIG Thanks & MUCH Luv to Darell Hammond + team at KaBOOM!!)

Diem Chau was commissioned by Wieden + Kennedy to carve 66 crayons for this year’s Nike World Cup press kits!  Only 11 kits were created. 18 days of work. Little sleep. BIG inspiration!
About the Artist - Diem Chau combines common mediums and common means to create delicate vignettes of fleeting memory, gesture and form, resulting in works that combine egalitarian sensibility and minimalist restraint. Her work touches on the value of Storytelling, Myths and its ability to connect us to each other through cultural and humanistic similarities.
The SIX:
Italy’s Fabio Cannavaro in Antique Brass from Crayola - This color was introduced in 1998 in the 120 box set.
Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba in Copper from Crayola - This color was introduced in 1957 and is Charles Schulz’s favorite color from Crayola.
France’s Franck Ribery in Gold from Crayola - The color was introduced in 1949 in the 48 box set.
Brazil’s Robinho in Silver from Crayola - This color was introduced with Gold in 1949 in the 48 box set.
Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo in White from Crayola - This color was introduced in the Studio & School 12 box in 1903
England’s Wanye Rooney in Timberwolf from Crayola - This color was introduced in 1993 in the Big Box of 96.
